Puerto Aventuras, Mexico
  • Traveled with Air Canada
  • Overall tips Far enough from the crowds of Cancun, but close enough to some great spots. We went three years in a row and love the beach and the overall vibe!
Accommodation
  • Villas del Mar Casa Aqua
    Q.R., Bahía Xcacel MZ 23,LT 11,77400, 77400 Puerto Aventuras, Q.R., Mexico
Villa Del Mar I condos are awesome - right on the beach - you can book through vrbo/aribnb or through the local rental agencies. Check the reviews and the pictures carefully, some of the condos are newer and others are quite dated.

Puerto Aventuras, Mexico

    • Puerto Aventuras
      Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo, Mexico
We spent the first few days on the beach - relaxing, hot and water is awesome. You can eat next door at the Omni hotel through the bar right on the beach. Usually a waiter from the hotel will come by and take orders over at the condo beach area. On google earth you can get a good idea of the proximity.
      • PAPARAZZI
Centro Comercial Marina. Carretera Tulum - Cancún. Edificio F, Solidaridad, 77782 Cancún, Q.R., Mexico
Easy, cheap and good pizza! Takeout is possible, though delivery seems to take forever. It is a very short walk from the condo.
        • Jessie Gelato
Bahia Xcacel Manzana 23 No., Lote 11 A-3, 77733 Puerto Aventuras, Q.R., Mexico
The best - ate there with the kids every night! Jessie is a tourist attraction himself!

    • Cenote Cristalino
Km 269, Carr. Cancún - Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Q.R., Mexico
Cool little cenote right near Puerto Aventuras, the water is amazing. after you leave PA head south and keep an eye out for the sign on the right side of the road a few km away.
      • Omni Puerto Aventuras Beach Resort
Km. 269.5, Puntacelus y Marina, Bahía Xcacel, Solidaridad, 77733 Cancun, Q.R., Mexico
We like eating here - food is decent, prices stay the same (think lower peso) and it is right on the water

    • Ruins of Tulum
      Carretera federal 307 Cancún - Chetumal Km 230, 77780 Tulum, Q.R., Mexico
Get there early because it can get hot and lots of tour groups. But awesome ruins - however the beach was the best part! Since everyone was hot we ended up spending more time at the beach. Remember to bring some towels.

never can get enough beach time
      • Fairmont Mayakoba
Carretera Federal Cancún-Playa del Carmen Km. 298, 77710 Playa del Carmen, QROO, Mexico
Yes - ate there again! Celebrated my mother's bday and everyone loved it. we were looking for a special place to celebrate a big birthday and this was the perfect spot. The hotel is huge and they have golf carts that take you across the resort out to the restaurant. The kids loved it. Fairmont also has a kids menu so their meals were actually reasonable.

Final dinner on the beach. They haven't adjusted their prices in the 3 years we have been going there, even with the significant slide in the peso.
